Eva Schmelz is a partner and attorney at law at Schmelz lawfirm in Vienna, specialising in family law, divorce law, media law and copyright law.
Born in St. Pölten in 1980, she studied law at the University of Vienna and spent a year of her studies at the University of Copenhagen. She passed her bar exam with distinction in 2009. In addition to her legal training, Eva completed training as a mediator; she continually applies the knowledge she has gained in this way – regarding amicable solutions – to her work as a family law expert.
Before setting up her own practice as a solicitor in 2014, Eva worked, amongst other places, at a leading Austrian commercial law firm and at the Independent Federal Asylum Senate in Vienna. In 2017, she was appointed as a lecturer at the University of Vienna in the field of media and broadcasting law. In 2019, she published the book "Separated Parents – Shared Children: A Guide for Single Mums and Dads" with Linde-Verlag. Eva speaks German and English.
